Sonia Gandhi Recalls Love Story With Rajiv Gandhi Ahead of Memoir Release

New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has recalled how her love story with former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi began in 1965 at a Greek restaurant in Cambridge, England, in her debut post on X.
Sharing a video featuring personal memories and old photographs, Sonia Gandhi introduced her forthcoming memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love, scheduled for release on November 10. She recalled being drawn to Rajiv Gandhi’s gentle nature and said they became friends after a mutual acquaintance introduced them.
The 544-page memoir traces her journey from childhood in post-war Italy to her life with Rajiv Gandhi, while reflecting on personal tragedies, including the assassinations of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, and her subsequent role in Indian politics.
Published globally by Alfred A. Knopf, the book will be released in India by HarperCollins India. Pre-orders are now open.
