Odisha Puts 205 Fire Rescue Teams on Cyclone Alert

Odisha Fire and Emergency Services has intensified its preparedness as a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal threatens to develop into a cyclone.
A total of 205 rescue teams have been placed on high alert in vulnerable areas. Equipped with rescue boats, life jackets, tree-cutting tools and emergency communication systems, the teams are ready to tackle flooding, remove fallen trees, clear blocked roads and assist relief operations.

A 24-hour control room has also been activated to monitor the situation and coordinate with district administrations, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF).

Fire Services DG Sudhanshu Sarangi said all units are prepared for immediate deployment, with public safety remaining the top priority.
