Delhi SIR: Only 2.5 Lakh Applications Received After 47.6 Lakh Names Deleted From Draft Voter List

New Delhi: Only 2,50,754 Form 6 applications were received in Delhi up to October 22, following the deletion of nearly 47.6 lakh names from the draft electoral roll published on August 31, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office said on Friday.

The applications include new voters and those seeking re-enrolment after their names were deleted under the Absent, Shifted, Dead or Duplicate (ASDD) categories during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Another 2,12,400 applications were received before the draft roll’s publication.

Of the nearly 33 lakh entries flagged for discrepancies or lack of linkage with the 2002 voter roll, around 29.5 lakh cases have been resolved. West Delhi recorded the highest number of applications at 30,361, while New Delhi district reported the lowest at 4,341.

The claims and objections window closes on October 30, with applications scheduled to be processed by November 30. The final electoral roll is set to be published on December 4.
