Vegetable-laden pickup van overturns near Dhenkanal, driver escapes

Dhenkanal: A vegetable-laden pickup van overturned at Sukiabauti under Rasol police station limits in Dhenkanal district on Friday morning.

As per sources, the pickup van (OD07AX4368) was travelling with vegetables from Baragada to Kataka through the Old Kataka- Sambalpur Road where the driver allegedly lost control near Sukiabauti and the van overturned.

Driver has sustained injuries in the mishap but fled from the spot later.

Following which, vegetable traders were informed and reached the spot and collected all the vegetables from the overturned van and took them in another vehicle.

On being informed, police reached the site and have initiated a probe into the matter.

Later, the overturned van was pulled and taken away from the road by a JCB machine.
