Nuakhai 2026: Lagna for harvest festival finalized in Balangir

Balangir: The ‘Lagna’, the auspicious time, for the famous Nuakhai 2026 festival which holds significance in western Odisha, has been reportedly finalized by the Raj Purohit today.

According to reports, the Lagna for harvest festival finalized by the Raj Purohit at the Shailashree Palace in Balangir.

As the harvest festival holds significance especially in the western Odisha, minute details of the festival are taken seriously and conducted as per the Nuakhai ‘Lagna’.

This lagna is calculated based on the Rashi Naxatra of Maa Patneswari, Maa Samaleswari and the King of Patana in Balangir by the Purohits.

It is to be noted here that as per the Hindu calendar, the Nuakhai festival will be celebrated on the fifth day of Sukla pakshya of the Bhadrab month.

This year, the festival falls on September 15 and the auspicious time for the Nabanna Arpana (offering the new harvest) near revered Goddess Maa Pataneswari is between 9.36 AM and 10.6 AM.
