Two Bol Bom devotees critical after bike hits them on NH-16 in Khordha

Tangi: In an unfortunate turn of events, a speeding bike ran over two Bol Bom devotees on Chandeswar overbridge on National Highway-16 under Tangi police station limits of Odisha’s Khordha district.

The injuried duo have been identified as K. Raju Patra and D. Maheswar, residents of Dengapadar under Kodala police station in Ganjam district.

As per sources, the devotees were carrying holy water from Brahmapur to the Shri Lokanath Temple in Puri when the speeding motorcycle allegedly rammed into them.

The impact of the collision threw both devotees several metres ahead. The motorcyclist also lost control of the bike, fell on the road and sustained serious injuries.

The injured devotees have been identified as K. Raju Patra and D. Maheswar, residents of Dengapadar under Kodala police station in Ganjam district.

After receiving information, Tangi police rushed to the spot and shifted the two devotees and the injured biker to the Tangi Community Health Centre for treatment.

As the condition of one of the Bol Bam devotees turned critical, he was later referred to a hospital in Bhubaneswar for advanced medical care.

No information regarding the motorcyclist is known so far. Further details are awaited.
