Bus rams car on NH-16 near Gelpur Chowk, major mishap averted

Bhadrak: A major road accident was narrowly averted after a passenger bus crashed against a car near Gelpur Chowk on National Highway-16 under Bhadrak Rural Police limits late Thursday night.

Sources revealed that four people were traveling in a car from Chandikhol towards Baleshwar when the car then collided with a speeding bus that ran into it from the rear side.

Fortunately, due to brake applied timely by the bus driver, major accident was prevented.

However, the rear side of the car was crushed.

None sustained any injury, said reports. Meanwhile, the car and bus drivers engaged into a verbal duel ensuing a tense situation around the site of accident.

Upon receiving the information the police reached the spot, moved the damaged car from the highway for smooth traffic, and began a probe.
