Tiger Sighting Sparks Fear in Deogarh, Forest Officials on High Alert

Deogarh: Panic has gripped several areas of Deogarh district following reports of a tiger sighting in the Pradhanpat Reserve Forest under the Deogarh Forest Division.

The big cat is suspected to be roaming in the Kantapali area of Barkote Forest Range and Laimura Beat under Deogarh Range. Forest officials confirmed its presence after fresh pugmarks were spotted near Nagadihi village in Kantapali.

Following the development, the Forest Department has issued advisories through loudspeakers, urging villagers not to venture into forested areas and to keep their livestock securely tied.

Preliminary inputs suggest the tiger may be moving between Deogarh and Sundargarh districts, particularly around the Banai forest region.

Meanwhile, forest personnel have stepped up patrolling and are closely tracking the animal’s movement to avert any mishap.
