Former Odisha minister and three-time Bhatli MLA Sushant Singh passes away

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha minister and senior BJD leader Sushant Singh passes away after a prolonged illness at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

His death has brought a pall of gloom in the district of Baragada and in the western Odisha.

Singh was the elected from the Bhatli Assembly constituency thrice consecutive for three terms in 2009, 2014, and 2019.

He was the Labour and Employees’ State Insurance Minister in the State government.

One of the most influential leaders in western Odisha from the BJD, Sushant had lost the Bhatli seat in the 2024 Assembly election to Irasis Acharya.

Leaders of various parties and the public are grieving over the death and remembering the contribution of the leader for public service.
