Fire breaks out on Puri–Howrah Dhauli Express near Baleshwar, no casualties reported

Baleshwar: A fire broke out on Puri-Howrah Dhauli Express train near Markona railway station in Odisha’s Baleshwar district, on Monday.

Passengers aboard the train quickly rushed out of it for safety. No causality and injury reported so far.

As per sources, smoke appeared from one of the coaches (following engine) due to electric short-circuit.

On getting information fire fighters rushed to the spot and controlled it on time.

Hence, a major train accident has been prevented due to efficient response from railway and fire officials.

However, details of damage are to be assessed soon.

Due to the incident Dhauli Express remained stationed at Markona railway station for some time.

Train services on the route will resume after carrying out all the safety and technical checks.
