Police Seize Ganja Worth Rs 15 Lakh on Biju Expressway in Sundargarh
Police in Sundargarh district seized nearly 1.5 quintals of ganja worth Rs 15 lakh from a Duster SUV abandoned on Biju Expressway near Gangajal under Bargaon police limits.
The vehicle reportedly met with an accident and was left deserted along National Highway 10. Witnesses claimed three to four individuals were travelling in the SUV before they fled the scene, leaving behind the contraband.
Acting on a tip-off, police reached the spot and launched a search operation. Officers discovered the ganja concealed inside the vehicle. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics stands at around ₹15 lakh.
Authorities confiscated the SUV and initiated a detailed investigation. Police teams are now working to identify and apprehend the smugglers involved in the illegal ganja transportation.
