Muddle in Police Commissionerate

Bhubaneswar/Kataka: 2013-batch IPS officer Jagmohan Meena has submitted his resignation letter to the Odisha government, but it has not yet approved by the government.
It has become the most discussed topic among the administrators and police department as Bhubaneswar’s DCP has sent his resignation to the Odisha government.

According to reports, the 2013-batch IPS officer stated that he has applied for leave and permission to resign due to personal reasons and refrained from elaborating more on it.
He had joined as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhubaneswar on February 28, 2025.
Apart from this, Meena has also been DCP Cuttack and Superintendent of Police (SP) Angul and Ganjam. As of now, the state government has not approved the resignation of the IPS officer.
On the other hand, investigation intensified in the death of PS IIC Beauty Mohanty as husband, sisters’ statements recorded.
The Commissionerate Police intensified its investigation into the death of Chauliaganj Police Station IIC Beauty Mohanty, whose body was found hanging in her official residence on Sunday morning.

Her husband and two sisters of Beauty Mohanty have been taken into custody for recording of their statements under Section 180 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Both were brought to the Chauliaganj police station, where their statements have been recorded.
The police is also examining the laptop and mobile phone of the deceased officer, and all electronic devices for her chats.
Meanwhile, the Mangalabag Police has registered a case of unnatural death and are probing the incident from all angles.
