Jindal Steel Defeats SPCB Odisha In Friendly T20 Match At Angul

Angul: A friendly day-night T20 cricket match between the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Odisha, and Jindal Steel, Angul, was organised to promote sportsmanship, environmental awareness, and community bonding.
The match witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials, employees, and local residents, highlighting the spirit of teamwork and cooperation beyond professional responsibilities.
Batting first, the SPCB team, captained by Sitakantha Sahu, scored 136 runs in 18.4 overs. Chasing the target, the Jindal Steel team led by Dhananjay Kumar Singh put up an impressive performance and reached 140/5 in 12.4 overs to register a five-wicket victory.
Despite the loss, the SPCB team displayed strong fighting spirit throughout the game. Dibyaranjan Pradhan was named Man of the Match for his explosive knock of 52 runs off just 21 balls.
Several senior dignitaries attended the event, including Executive Director, Angul, P. K. Biju Nair; Executive Director (Iron Zone), Damodar Mittal; and Vice President (EMD), Alok Kumar Sahu from Jindal Steel, along with senior officials from the State Pollution Control Board.
Addressing the gathering, P. K. Biju Nair and Damodar Mittal encouraged the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. Biju Nair said the State Pollution Control Board and Jindal Steel have been working together to promote environmental responsibility and build a better future for coming generations.
The event also conveyed a strong message on environmental awareness, stressing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and promoting greenery within the plant premises and surrounding ecosystem.
