With this latest recovery drive, Jagatsinghpur Police have traced and returned a total of 193 mobile phones during 2026, with an estimated combined value of ₹43.02 lakh.
Earlier, during the first phase of the Mobile Handover Mela in April 2026, police had returned 58 mobile phones worth around ₹15 lakh. The latest phase added another 135 devices valued at ₹28.02 lakh to the recovery record.
Police officials said the initiative reflects their continued efforts to safeguard citizens’ property through technical surveillance, systematic investigation and effective coordination.
*Police Advisory for Mobile Phone Owners*
Jagatsinghpur Police have urged citizens who lose their mobile phones or fall victim to theft to immediately report the matter at the nearest police station and register their devices on the official Sanchar Saathi portal (CEIR).
The Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) facility helps authorities block and trace missing or stolen phones using their unique IMEI numbers.

Citizens should preserve their phone’s IMEI number, purchase documents and police complaint acknowledgement. If a missing device is recovered, owners must follow the prescribed CEIR procedure to unblock it after verification.
Police have emphasised that timely reporting and registration on the CEIR portal can significantly improve the chances of recovering lost or stolen mobile phones.
