Ganjam Migrant Worker Dies After Falling From Moving Train In Tamil Nadu

Bhubaneswar: A 30-year-old migrant worker from Odisha’s Ganjam district died tragically after allegedly falling from a moving train in Tamil Nadu while travelling to Chennai in search of employment.

The deceased was identified as Tuna Behera, a resident of Bhishmagiri village under Digapahandi block in Ganjam district. According to his family and fellow passengers, Tuna had boarded the train on Friday night along with a group of friends, intending to travel to Chennai for labour work.

Tuna was reportedly the sole earning member of his family, making his sudden death a major blow to his dependents.

The incident reportedly took place near Patambakkam, close to Cuddalore Port Junction in Tamil Nadu. Tuna is suspected to have lost his balance and fallen from the moving train. He sustained critical injuries and reportedly died at the spot.

After receiving information about the incident, Government Railway Police personnel reached the location, recovered the body and sent it to a nearby government hospital for post-mortem examination.

The news of Tuna’s death has plunged his family and villagers into grief. Residents described him as a hardworking person and expressed concern over the difficulties his family may face following his death.

Railway Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. The body is expected to be handed over to the family after completion of the post-mortem and other formalities.
