Woman Killed, Two Critically Injured in Road Accident in Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: A tragic road accident near Gadadeulia Square under Baisinga police station limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district claimed the life of a woman and left two of her family members critically injured late Tuesday night.

According to reports, former Mayurbhanj Zilla Parishad Chairperson and Gadadeulia petrol pump owner Kamala Tiria, along with her son Abhisekh and pregnant daughter-in-law, was returning to Baripada from Bhubaneswar after a medical check-up when the mishap occurred.

The car bearing registration number OD11AA-8181 was allegedly hit from behind by a trailer at around 11:30 pm. Following the collision, the vehicle lost control and rammed into a road divider.

Kamala Tiria, her son and daughter-in-law sustained critical injuries in the accident and were rushed to Remuna Hospital for treatment. However, Kamala’s daughter-in-law succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

On being informed, Baisinga police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited.
