Three Killed As Speeding Truck Hits Two Two-Wheelers In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Three persons, including a woman, were killed and another sustained critical injuries after a speeding truck rammed into two two-wheelers on National Highway-16 in Bhubaneswar on Saturday evening.

The tragic accident occurred on the overbridge near Fire Station Square in the city.

According to reports, the truck hit a motorcycle and a scooter from behind while they were travelling on the overbridge. The impact of the collision left four persons critically injured.

Soon after the accident, the truck driver allegedly fled the spot.

On receiving information, police and Fire Brigade personnel rushed to the scene and shifted the injured persons to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, doctors declared three of them dead on arrival. The fourth injured person is currently undergoing treatment, police said.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be officially confirmed.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and efforts are underway to trace the absconding truck driver.
