Sudarsan Pattnaik Thanks Tamil Nadu CM Vijay for Praising Sand Sculpture

Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay after the latter publicly praised his sand sculpture dedicated to him.

In a social media post, Pattnaik thanked Vijay for appreciating his artwork and said he felt deeply honoured by the recognition. He described the appreciation from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister as “special and encouraging.”

The exchange began after Pattnaik created a grand sand sculpture on Puri Beach celebrating Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy, following the strong performance of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The elaborate sand artwork featured a detailed portrait of Vijay along with TVK’s signature colours and a congratulatory message reading “Congratulations VIJAY Anna!”

Responding to the gesture, Vijay shared the artwork on social media and thanked Pattnaik for the “breathtaking creation,” praising the artist’s talent and expressing that he was deeply touched by the tribute.

The sand sculpture and the warm exchange between the two personalities quickly went viral on social media, drawing praise from people across Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
