Rajnath Singh Calls for Stronger Strategic Preparedness

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called for greater focus on geo-strategic planning and contingency preparedness to ensure India is ready to respond to emerging security challenges.
Addressing the Indian Navy Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi, Singh said preparedness should stay ahead of potential crises, particularly amid rapid technological changes and evolving geopolitical conditions.
He highlighted the Navy’s role in safeguarding India’s energy routes during Operation Urja Suraksha and praised its operational readiness. Singh also described India as a first responder and trusted security partner in the Indian Ocean Region, in line with the country’s MAHASAGAR vision.

The Defence Minister pointed to the deployment of Indian naval ships across the South China Sea, Mediterranean and Atlantic as evidence of the Navy’s growing blue-water capabilities.
The conference also discussed the use of artificial intelligence, big data, autonomous systems, cyber operations, logistics and advanced training to build a combat-ready and future-oriented force based on jointness, self-reliance and innovation.
