Pankaj Lochan Mohanty Appointed as OCA President

Cuttack: Noted industrialist Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Chairman & Managing Director of MGM Group and the acting President of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), has been officially appointed as the OCA President.

The OCA presidential election was previously held on October 28, 2022, where MLA Pranab Prakash Das was unanimously elected. However, following his resignation on December 29, 2024, the position remained vacant, with Mohanty taking over as acting President.

It was widely expected that Pankaj Lochan Mohanty would be appointed to the role. Following Das’ resignation, Angul MLA Pratap Chandra Pradhan, who serves as the President of the District Cricket Association, was also considered for the position.

Mohanty filed his nomination on February 12. As per the election schedule, scrutiny and objection filing against his nomination were set for February 14, while candidates could withdraw their nominations until the morning of February 15. The final candidate list was published on the same day, and the OCA President election was scheduled for February 23.
