Non-veg market through the state of Odisha booms with Raja festivities

Bhubaneswar: People of Odisha are soaking in the enjoyment of the much-awaited Raja festival today with Pahili Raja kicking off from Sunday.
It is time to savor and celebrate this festival all across the state. However, along with the merriment the non-vegetarian markets are seeing a huge boom in business.
Sunday, coincided with the Pahili Raja and hence has resulted in a massive, unending, rush in non-vegetarian markets all across the state of Odisha.
Markets were filled with shoppers right from morning and it looked like a sea of customers had descended to buy fish and meat for the occasion. These markets are now a festive place and are brimming with activity.
The non-veg market of Unit-4, a renowned hub of meat and fish products, had a humongous crowd of shoppers looking forward to buying mutton, chicken, fish, prawns and crabs to make delicious feasts of special Raja meals.
A number of shoppers were seen carrying away bags full of fresh fish and meat to celebrate the festival with their families and friends.
From cities to villages all over Odisha, traders are reporting tremendous business owing to high demand of non-veg dishes. The weekend combined with the festivity has resulted in good sales at the markets.
The houses in Odisha are currently echoing with the aromas of their savory traditional dishes and various non-vegetarian items, filling the houses with the flavor and zest of the festive spirit.
