Naveen Patnaik Raises Concern Over Law and Order Situation in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has written to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressing serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Odisha following an alleged attack on Athgarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain.
In his letter, Patnaik said he was writing with “deep concern and grave anxiety” over the rapidly worsening law and order situation in the state. He referred to an incident that reportedly took place in Tigiria Block under the Athagarh Assembly constituency on May 22.

According to Patnaik, MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain was allegedly blocked, intimidated, and physically prevented by BJP-backed miscreants while he was on his way to attend the Tigiria Panchayat Samiti meeting.
The former Chief Minister termed the incident a direct assault on the democratic framework and warned that if elected representatives are unsafe while performing their constitutional duties, the safety of common citizens would also be at risk.
Patnaik urged the Chief Minister to take stringent action against those involved in the incident and ensure adequate measures for the safety and security of people across Odisha.
