Man rescued from tower in Mahanadi by Odisha Fire Services in Kataka

Kataka: The Odisha Fire and Emergency Services successfully rescued a man who was stranded on a tower in the middle of the Mahanadi River during a late-night operation here near Ganesh Ghat under Lalbag Police Station in Kataka.

As per sources, the Bidanasi Fire Station received a distress call around 10:30 PM Saturday evening that a person was stranded atop a tower in the Mahanadi River.

Immediately a team from the fire service rushed to the site along with a power boat and started the rescue operation.

After continuous efforts, the rescue team safely brought the person down from the tower.

The rescued person was identified as Sibananda Naik (43) of Talabasta village under Banki police limits of Kataka district.

Due to the swift and courageous action of the Fire Service personnel, a precious life was saved without any casualty. The rescue operation was completed successfully.
