Rath Yatra observed in London, Lord Jagannath’s Chariot Rolls in Southall

Bhubaneswar: Rath Yatra observed in London. Lord Jagannath’s Chariot Rolls in Southall.

Under the aegis of Shree Jagannath Society UK (SJSUK), the grand and spiritually charged ‘Rath Yatra 2026’ was reportedly organized in London. The chant of ‘Jai Jagannath’ echoed on foreign soil. The sounds of Haribol and Huluhuli reverberated on British land.

On the auspicious day of July 16, a grand public celebration was held at the Shree Ram Mandir in Southall. Another large-scale event followed on July 18 at the Navnat Centre in Hayes.

Thousands of devotees of Lord Jagannath gathered for the festival, turning the entire city of London into a spiritual hub.

The journey of the Nandighosha chariot of Kalia Saantha is meant to give darshan to all, irrespective of caste, religion, or creed. Keeping in mind the sacred traditions of the holy abode of Puri Srikhetra, the atmosphere of devotion from Bada Danda was recreated in distant London through bhajans, kirtans, and prayers.

After Pahandi Bije, Chhera Pahara, and the consecration of the chariot, the Mahaprabhu was adorned with a decorated crown and offered Agyan Mala.

Thereafter, amid chants of “Jai Jagannath”, the Chaturdha Murti proceeded in a ceremonial procession and took their seats on the beautifully decorated chariot.

In an emotionally charged atmosphere, devotees then pulled the chariot and considered themselves blessed. Arrangements were also made for Khichudi, Dalma, dry offerings, and Mahaprasad for the devotees.
