Four Arrested in Bhubaneswar Cyber Fraud Case

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police arrested four youths on Friday for their alleged involvement in a cyber fraud case. The arrests followed a raid conducted on an apartment in the Sundarpada area of the city.

The accused were reportedly defrauding people using a gaming app. Acting on a tip-off, the Cyber Police and Airfield Police conducted a search at Flat No. 602 in the Prestige Apartment on Thursday. During the raid, authorities seized 20 smartphones, two desktops, a laptop, three passports, multiple SIM cards, and a Jio Fiber internet connection.

According to police, the suspects, all of whom hail from outside Odisha, were operating the cybercrime syndicate for the past six months. They allegedly lured victims by sharing links to online gaming platforms via WhatsApp and Telegram, using these platforms to deceive and defraud individuals.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are probing the extent of the syndicate’s operations.
