Former Gunupur MLA Ramamurty Gamango dies at 76

Gunupur: Former MLA of Gunupur, Ramamurty Gamango has passed away while undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack at the age of 76 years.
According to sources he died at about 3 AM on Friday morning.
The veteran politician had been suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases and was taken to the AIIMS at Bhubaneswar for treatment two days back and later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital here in Cuttack.
Gamango was involved in a controversial court case where he was convicted by a special court at Bhubaneswar in the murder of his wife for life imprisonment.
He also had a significant career in Rayagada district and represented the Gunupur Assembly constituency two times, in the Janata Dal from 1990 to 1995, and during the BJD-BJP coalition, he represented BJP and was elected MLA for the second time from the year 2000 to 2005.
