Fast Hyva truck falls into canal near Barang

Barang: Big accident narrowly avoided as over speeding Hyva truck plunged into the Puri Main Canal near Sandhapur under Barang late on Thursday night.

The driver somehow sustained only minor injuries in the accident and managed to flee the spot.

As per reports, the vehicle was heading towards Godisahi from Barang when the incident took place. It is suspected that driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel which led to him losing control of the truck.

The truck initially hit a roadside tree before falling off the road into the canal. The heavy vehicle slid off the road due to the impact.

Luckily, the driver managed to sustain only minor injuries but fled the spot instead of waiting for authorities, it is suspected.

Godisahi Police out post rushed to the site after being informed about the incident and an investigation is on to find the driver and cause of the accident.

The issue points at increasing number of accidents on state roads due to late night driving and drowsy drivers.
