Ex-Gratia Granted to Late Journalist Prabir

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The Odisha government today granted Rs 15 lakh ex-gratia to the next kin of Working Journalist Prabir Kumar Pradhan who succumbed to novel Coronavirus few months back.

In a statement, the I&PR department said the assistance has been provided under Rule-7 of the Odisha Working Journalists Welfare Fund Rules 2006. On November 5, Prabir, a Senior Journalist of News 18 Odia died of the deadly Coronavirus while undergoing treatment at the Aditya Ashwini COVID Hospital in the State capital.

Prabir is survived by his wife and a three-year-old daughter.
