BJP, Congress Workers join BJD

Bhubaneswar, July 26(Reporters Today Bureau): Over 50 Congress and BJP workers from Nabarangpur and Gopalpur in Ganjam district on Tuesday joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal.
They included several former Sarpanches also.
Welcoming them to party fold, BJD Organisation Secretary Pranab Prakash Das said that these had expressed their faith and confidence of the BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
“The party will protect their interests as they have chosen BJD which they believe will strengthen Odisha and take it the path of progress,” Das said at a Mishran Parv at the party Headquarters here.
These leaders had expressed their desire to join the Biju Janata Dal some time ago. Chief Minister and BJD supremo had approved their joining, Das said.
These leaders said they have been feeling suffocated in their previous organizations as those lacked concrete plans to propel the State on the path of progress.
