SOA ASCE student chapter gets honorable mention

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Bhubaneswar, April 27: In yet another significant achievement, the ASCE Student Chapter of the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University) has been placed in the top one-third technical universities or institutes worldwide for honorable mention in the Student Chapter Awards of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for 2019 based on the student activities over the previous year.

SOA has been placed alongside renowned universities like University of California, Davis, University of California, Irvine, University of California, San Diego and Carnegie Mellon University in a list containing 84 such great universities in this category across the world.

            ASCE, the oldest national engineering society in the United States, was founded in 1852 to represent members of the civil engineering profession worldwide. It is a leading provider of technical and professional conferences and continuing education. It is a leading society in civil engineering.

            SOA, was recently ranked 24^th in the university category and 41^st among institutions in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), HRD Ministry, and the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), its faculty of engineering and technology, was ranked 32^nd among institutes of engineering and technology in the country.
