Bhubaneswar Deploys 73 Officers, 15 Platoons for Puja Traffic

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital will witness enhanced traffic management and security arrangements during Durga Puja, with 73 police officers and 15 platoons of security personnel deployed across the city until October 22.

Traffic ACP Umakanta Pradhan said the measures aim to control congestion, manage the expected festive crowds and reduce road accidents. Police teams will remain on alert, particularly at busy locations, to ensure smooth vehicle movement and safer commuting.

Authorities will conduct special enforcement drives against drunk driving, overspeeding and dangerous driving. Violators will face strict action under traffic regulations.

The traffic police have urged residents and visitors to obey road safety rules, avoid driving after consuming alcohol and exercise caution while travelling. The additional deployment is intended to ensure hassle-free movement and public safety throughout the festive celebrations.
