Air India Extends Saudi Arabia Flight Suspension Until October 20 Amid Security Concerns

Air India has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Saudi Arabia until October 20, 2026, citing the deteriorating security situation in the region following attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
The airline had previously suspended its Saudi Arabia services until October 17. In an announcement on Friday, Air India confirmed that all flights connecting Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah would remain cancelled through October 20.
The airline said it was closely monitoring developments in the region and reviewing the situation to determine when flight operations could safely resume. Passengers affected by the cancellations will be eligible for a full refund.

Other Indian carriers have also extended their flight restrictions amid rising tensions in the Middle East. IndiGo has suspended its Saudi Arabia services until October 24, while Akasa Air has extended the suspension of flights to and from Riyadh until October 24 and Jeddah until October 21.
The latest decisions come amid a series of drone and missile attacks attributed to Yemen’s Houthi rebels targeting civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Riyadh airport has reportedly faced multiple attacks, raising concerns over aviation safety in the region.
Airlines are continuing to assess the evolving security situation before deciding when normal services can resume.
