ISRO launches EMISAT satellite to locate enemy radar

Surjit Kumar Dhal, Bengaluru, Apr 1: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) early on Monday launched the electronic intelligence satellite EMISAT along with 28 nano satellites of global customers from Sriharikota launch station.

This low-Earth orbit satellite weighing 436 kg would monitor and give locations of enemy radar sites deep in their territory.

Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) was used for the launch. This is the 71st launch vehicle mission for Sriharikota.

This comes six days after DRDO test-fired an anti-satellite (ASAT) missile under Mission Shakti operation to boost national security.
