Nepal Premier League Season 3 Begins

The third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), the country’s leading franchise-based T20 cricket competition, gets underway today at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The tournament will run until November 21, featuring eight teams battling for the championship.

Defending champions Lumbini Lions will face last year’s runners-up Sudurpaschim Royals in the opening fixture.

This season brings significant developments, including recognition from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the introduction of the Decision Review System (DRS), which will enable teams to contest certain umpiring decisions.

Several prominent international cricketers are also set to feature in the competition. The star-studded lineup includes former Australia captain David Warner, West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell, South African batter David Miller and Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Their participation is expected to add further excitement and competitiveness to the tournament.
