BJP Calls for Unity on Women’s Reservation Bill

The BJP has urged the Congress to support the Women’s Reservation Bill and help ensure its implementation instead of politicising the issue.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, BJP National General Secretary Smriti Irani said Congress should demonstrate its commitment to women’s empowerment by backing the provision for 33% reservation for women in Parliament.

Irani appealed to all political parties to work together to increase women’s representation in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. She also stressed that no political party is above Parliament or the Constitution, adding that national dignity and the people’s voice should remain the top priority.
