BJP Vows to Protect Legacy of National Song

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has passed a resolution pledging to uphold the honour and historical legacy of Vande Mataram, the National Song of India.

BJP President Nitin Nabin criticised the Congress Working Committee’s decision to sing only the first two stanzas of the song at party programmes. He said the BJP would oppose any attempt to undermine Vande Mataram due to communal considerations, political appeasement or vote-bank politics.

Nabin said the party will launch a nationwide campaign to spread awareness about the history, meaning and national significance of Vande Mataram. He described the song as a symbol of reverence for Bharat Mata, the freedom movement and India’s national consciousness.

The resolution was adopted at a meeting of the BJP’s newly appointed national office-bearers at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
