Odisha Launches Doorstep Artificial Insemination Service for Cattle Farmers

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has introduced a statewide doorstep artificial insemination service to help cattle farmers adopt improved breeding practices and increase the productivity and profitability of livestock rearing.
Under the new ‘On-Call AI Service’, farmers can request artificial insemination facilities for their cattle simply by making a phone call. Once a request is received, a trained Artificial Insemination technician will visit the farmer’s doorstep and provide the required breeding service.
The facility has been rolled out across all 30 districts of the state, making it easier for livestock owners, particularly those in rural areas, to access professional breeding assistance without having to transport their cattle.
The Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department has appealed to farmers to make use of the service and adopt scientific cattle-rearing practices for better productivity and income.
Farmers seeking the service can contact the toll-free helpline at 155333.
