Dabur, Ferns N Petals Among Firms Facing FSSAI Action

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has said that six companies, including Dabur India and Ferns N Petals, have taken corrective action after receiving notices over misleading labels, claims and advertisements.

Lotte India removed “100 per cent” claims from its product labels. Ferns N Petals also corrected several labelling violations related to its chocolate products.
According to FSSAI, one of the chocolate products contained hydrogenated vegetable fat instead of cocoa butter but did not carry the required declaration. The product also failed to mention the recommended daily allowance (RDA) percentages in its nutrition information. The company said it has corrected the labels of the affected products, including Roasted Almond Chocolate.

Eat Better Ventures removed comparative and vegan claims, while Om Sai Healthcare said it was revising its marketing materials and website content. The company also assured FSSAI that it would avoid misleading advertisements and claims in the future.

In the case of Dabur, FSSAI said the company had been selling an Ayurvedic proprietary medicinal oil as edible oil. Dabur has instructed e-commerce platforms to list the product under the appropriate Ayurvedic medicine category and is also updating its own website listing.
FSSAI said the corrective actions demonstrate how regulatory oversight is helping improve accountability and compliance in the food industry.
