Runaway Thar Causes Fatal Chain of Accidents Near Pipili

Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped the Pipili area late Tuesday night after a Thar allegedly went out of control, broke through a barricade at the Pipili Toll Plaza and was involved in a series of collisions on the Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway.

According to reports, the vehicle was travelling towards Bhubaneswar from Puri when it crashed into the barricade at the toll plaza. The SUV then continued towards Pamasarasidi, where it reportedly hit a bull and a motorcycle.

The impact proved fatal, with both the bull and the motorcycle rider dying in the accident. The incident caused panic among commuters travelling along the busy highway.

Following the accident, police recovered and seized the Thar from the spot. However, the driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled before authorities arrived.

Police have launched an investigation to identify and trace the driver and determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
