Two Youths Go Missing After Being Swept Away in Kuakhai River Near Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Two young men are feared to have drowned after being swept away by the strong current of the swollen Kuakhai River in Odisha’s Balianta area on Friday. Police and Fire Services personnel have launched an extensive search operation to trace them.
According to reports, four friends had visited the river after having a meal near the Sai Temple at Satyabhamapur under the Balianta police station limits. While taking a bath, two of them allegedly moved into a deeper section of the river and were carried away by the swift current.

The remaining two friends reportedly tried to rescue them but were unsuccessful due to the force of the overflowing river.
The missing youths have been identified as Divyajyoti Swain from Bhubaneswar’s Laxmisagar area and Rudra Narayan Swain from Dhauli. Both are around 20 years old.
After receiving information about the incident, Balianta police and Fire Services teams rushed to the spot and began a search and rescue operation. Efforts to locate the missing youths were underway at the time of filing this report.
The incident has left family members and local residents distressed, with many gathering along the riverbank as rescue teams continued their search.
