Nowcast Alert Issued for 10 Odisha Districts as Thunderstorms and Rain Likely

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday issued a nowcast warning for several parts of Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, rainfall and gusty winds over the next few hours.
According to the weather bulletin, one or two places in Sundargarh, Boudh, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Balangir and Koraput districts are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall. Wind speeds may reach between 40 kmph and 50 kmph during the period.

The weather office has urged residents in the affected districts to remain alert and closely monitor changing weather conditions. People have been advised to seek shelter in safe locations and avoid open areas during thunderstorm activity to minimise the risk of lightning-related incidents.
The nowcast warning will remain valid for the next three hours from the time of its issuance.
