Odisha Governor Mourns Demise of Renowned Archery Coach Rajesh Hansda

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of noted archery coach Rajesh Hansda, whose contributions to the sport and athlete development earned him widespread respect in the sporting community.
Taking to social media platform X, the Governor paid tribute to Hansda’s legacy, describing him as a dedicated mentor who played a vital role in shaping the careers of numerous young archers. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and members of the archery fraternity, praying for eternal peace for the departed soul.
Rajesh Hansda was a well-known figure in Odisha’s sports landscape and served as an archery coach at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). Over the years, he trained and guided several promising athletes, many of whom went on to represent Odisha and India at various national and international tournaments.
Known for his commitment to nurturing grassroots talent, Hansda earned admiration from students, colleagues, and sports administrators alike for his passion and dedication to the sport.
His mortal remains are scheduled to be taken to his native village in Malkangiri district on Monday, where final rites will be performed.
Meanwhile, tributes have continued to pour in from sportspersons, coaches, archery associations, and well-wishers across the state, all remembering Hansda’s lasting impact on archery and his invaluable contribution to developing future champions.
