Balangir: Gudighat Forester suspended over elephant death

Balangir: Taking a serious note of the recent elephant death case, Balangir Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ajit Bisi has reportedly suspended Gudighat Forester Jayakrishna Bhoi.
According to reports, the DFO suspended the Forester after finding his negligence while conducting a detailed inspection into the matter.
It is to be noted here that the elephant’s carcass was recovered from a cashew orchard owned by one Sanjeeb Putel on April 30. The pachyderm had died following electrocution near Chanutmal village under Muribahal forest range in Balangir district.
Meanwhile, non-bailable warrants (NBWs) have been issued against three persons including the cashew plantation owner Sanjeeb Putel, electricity department official Mohammad Juned, and lineman Ajit Taria.
