Train Services Cancelled On Sambalpur–Balangir Route Due To Bridge Reconstruction Work

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the temporary cancellation of several passenger train services on Saturday (May 16) in view of de-launching and rebuilding work of Bridge No. 80 in the Hirakud–Godbhaga section on the Sambalpur–Balangir railway route.

According to railway officials, the affected train services include Train No. 58303/58304 Sambalpur–Junagarh Road–Sambalpur Passenger, Train No. 58213/58214 Bilaspur–Titlagarh–Bilaspur Passenger, and Train No. 58217/58218 Titlagarh–Raipur–Titlagarh Passenger.

East Coast Railway has advised passengers to take note of the temporary cancellations and plan their journeys accordingly. Travellers have also been urged to check the latest updates through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES), the IRCTC website or mobile app, and official railway enquiry services before commencing their journey.

Railway authorities stated that the temporary suspension of services is necessary for essential bridge maintenance and reconstruction work aimed at ensuring long-term safety and operational reliability on the Sambalpur–Balangir section.

Normal train operations are expected to resume after the completion of the scheduled work.
