Tata Power to Invest ₹54.31 Crore in Odisha, Generate 110 Skilled Jobs

Tata Power is setting up a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Odisha’s Khordha district with an initial investment of ₹54.31 crore. The facility is expected to become operational within three months and will create 110 high-skilled jobs, marking the first project approved under the state’s dedicated GCC policy.
The centre will develop AI-driven solutions using artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI and other advanced technologies to improve energy management, demand forecasting, power-grid operations and investment planning. It will also explore digital twins, blockchain and simulation systems for renewable energy, manufacturing and pumped-hydro projects.
The facility is expected to employ AI experts, data scientists, cloud engineers, digital technology professionals and energy-sector specialists. In addition to supporting Tata Power’s operations, it will develop digital products and services for external clients.
Odisha’s GCC policy aims to attract investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore, establish at least five capability-centre hubs and generate over 50,000 direct and indirect jobs. Tata Power’s project was among 19 proposals worth approximately ₹3,280 crore approved by the state government in September.
