PM Modi to Inaugurate RBI Data Centre in Odisha on Oct 25

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha for approximately two hours on October 25 to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Greenfield Data Centre at Info Valley-II in Jatni.

As per the tentative schedule, Modi will arrive at Bhubaneswar airport around 4:30 pm, travel via Khordha by helicopter and road, and attend the inauguration ceremony. He is expected to leave for New Delhi around 6:30 pm.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reviewed preparations for the visit, while Chief Secretary Anu Garg has assessed security, logistics and coordination arrangements.

Built across 18.55 acres at an estimated cost of ₹169–170 crore, the facility will serve as a backup to the RBI’s main data centre at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. It will strengthen cybersecurity, disaster recovery and the continuity of critical banking operations, including currency management and payment systems.

The foundation stone was laid by former RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on March 22, 2023. The campus will also house an Enterprise Computing and Cybersecurity Training Institute to promote research and skill development. The project is expected to strengthen Odisha’s digital infrastructure and technology sector.
