Similipal Tiger Reserve to Reopen for Tourists from October 18

Baripada: In good news for wildlife enthusiasts and tourists, the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district will reopen to visitors from October 18, 2025, marking the beginning of the 2025–26 tourist season.
The Office of the Field Director, Similipal Tiger Reserve-cum-Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Baripada, informed that visitors can access details and book visits through the official websites — www.ecotourodisha.com and www.similipal.org.

The reserve had been closed to the public since July 1 due to the monsoon season. However, eco-tourism sites at Jamuani, Gudagudia, Kumari, Barehipani, and Ramatritha remained open during this period.
Earlier this year, the Odisha government officially declared Similipal Tiger Reserve as a National Park, further boosting its conservation and tourism importance.
