Shahzad Poonawalla Resubmits Resignation to BJP

Shahzad Poonawalla has once again submitted his resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), after the party previously declined to accept it.

Poonawalla said he wants to step down from the party’s primary membership and his position as a national spokesperson due to personal and financial circumstances. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior BJP leaders for their support.

In his latest letter, Poonawalla said recent developments and events had strengthened his decision to leave. He added that he plans to enter the private sector but would continue to support Prime Minister Modi and the BJP’s vision and work wherever possible.

Poonawalla also expressed gratitude to the BJP and Nitin Nabin, and requested that his resignation be formally accepted. He described his journey as a young Pasmanda Muslim from a non-political, non-dynastic background as something he felt was uniquely possible within the BJP.
