Schools, Colleges Closed in Keonjhar Tomorrow Due to Heavy Rain

Keonjhar: Due to incessant rainfall, the Keonjhar District Collector has announced closure of all Anganwadis, and all government and private schools and colleges from Class 1 to 12 in the district tomorrow.
The decision was taken in view of the prevailing weather conditions and for the safety of students.
Meanwhile, heavy rain has also hit rail operations in the district. Water has accumulated on the railway tracks, bringing train movement to a halt for nearly 5 hours.
The Barbil–Puri and Puri–Barbil passenger trains have been stranded. The Barbil–Puri train is currently stationed at Keonjhar Railway Station, while the Puri–Barbil train is halted at Naranpur Station.
Several freight trains have also been stopped due to waterlogging on the tracks.
According to the Keonjhar Road Station Master, train services have been suspended because of water on the tracks. Drainage work is underway and services will resume once the water recedes.
The delay has caused major inconvenience to passengers. Many stranded travelers returned home, while others are waiting at the stations hoping for services to resume.
