Puri Schools Closed for President Murmu’s Visit, Navy Day

PURI: The Puri district administration has announced the closure of all government and private schools within the Puri Municipality on Wednesday, December 4, due to the visit of President Droupadi Murmu and the Indian Navy Day celebrations.
According to the District Education Officer (DEO), classes at government Primary, Upper Primary, and High Schools, as well as private institutions including Mother’s Public School, Prabhujee English Medium School, Chandra Sekhar Academy, and Xavier School, will remain suspended.
However, the PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) examination, conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), will proceed as scheduled. Candidates are required to report to their examination centers by 7 a.m.
President Murmu is set to attend the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Gopabandhu Ayurveda College as the Chief Guest in the morning, followed by the Navy Day celebrations on Puri beach in the evening. She will spend the night at the Raj Bhavan in Puri.
